RE: I need some HELP

Since he had his tail cut, it's highly probable that he was shown under saddle in his former years. You could contact the American Saddlebred Horse Association at asha.net. You would be surprised how many breed associations are helpful in identifying their breed horses. Also, they may be able to help you obtain the papers as the papers belong to the horse, not the owner. You might want to get a better age gestimate on him from your vet ora local dentist so as to narrow down the search. Teeth aging is an art and is usually fairly accurate when done by a professional. I see the Amish pulling gums and aging a horse at twelve when in fact it's well into it's twenties. As a Dental Tech, I hate aging horses as it can go either way. Just this week, I aged at horse at 21 when the owner was told he was twelve (seems to be a majic number.) I've also aged twelve year old horses that are in fact five years old (owner is always pleased with that.) You have to look at thousands of mouths, including molar wear to properly age a horse. I find it interesting to correct a seller when they are selling a 'twelve' year old, then in fact it's well into it's twenties. Papers are the best as long as they match the horse, but then most associations are now doing DNA typing to stop the paper switching game. Good luck and if you need more help, let me know! Don't despair, I'm tracked may of my paperless horses to the source by contacting the breed associations and they are really helpful as they are very stringent about the whole paper with the horse thing. Good Luck!
