RE: Looking for boarding east of Pittsburgh
Posted by: Mystic Mountain Date posted: 09/14/2007 10:08:19 PM
Hello Jen,

Sorry I can't help you find boarding facilities, but I thought I'd drop you a line. I am seriously contemplating a move to Pennsylvania within 6 months in either the Pittsburgh or Harrisburg area. I own a 15 year old quarter horse that has a well-managed COPD condition. My research on Pittsburgh shows that the American Lung Association rated Pittsburgh as the No. 2 spot for poor air quality. I am wondering if the air in the boarding facilities around Pittsburgh would be hard on her breathing. I planned on phoning a vet in the area at some point, but when I saw your post, I thought I would send you a note. Did you find a place, are you happy with it, and do you notice anything about the air quality that might be hard for a mild COPD condition? Did you move to Pittsburgh from another area in PA/ How was the air there?

Thanks,

Heather
