I think compared to VA you will find everything in central PA inexpensive. Adams County is experiencing some growth as a horse area due to its proximity to MD. Cumberland County is also growing in the number of horse farms. Inexpensive. We are in Cumberland County. http://www.equineequip.com/triplecreekfarm.htm Over the past 7 or 8 years like everywhere real estate prices have increased, but in western Cumberland County it has been a slower increase. You can still find very reasonable land near Newville. Every time I am out that way I see another horse barn and pasture with a few horses in it. One note of warning about PA. each township has different zoning regulations. They can be very different from one town to the next. Some have no zoning at all. It might be useful to research local zoning about horses before you buy. Good luck!
