In talking to many hay sellers, the general rule of thumb is that hay costs are typically within fifty cents of current gasoline prices. If it is over that, they are taking you for a ride! Also, you can locally go to the Kutztown Auction, they have hay there and many times the farmers will just deliver it. We have had a few times where we re-loaded onto our truck because it was just a truckload. Another thought is Ed Shuler in East Greenville, Pa. Approx 20 min. from Quakertown. Last time I looked he was listed in white pages. I know we are paying about $3.50/$3/75 max a bale. Good luck!
